Bio
J.C. Peters took a less traditional path to becoming an attorney. He grew up in the small town of New Waverly, Texas and attended Sam Houston State University on a football scholarship. Following college, J.C. went to work in the oilfield as a drilling fluid specialist. When the oil market collapsed, he shifted careers and spent time working on tugboats and in chemical refineries. Eventually, he decided it was time to go back to school and now strives to use that blue-collar experience and work ethic to help others find justice through the law.
J.C. attended South Texas College of Law Houston and graduated with honors in 2020. During his time in law school, J.C. competed as a part of the prestigious South Texas College of Law Varsity Moot Court program. During his time with the program, J.C. won various awards for his brief writing skills, received the Christopher Breen Memorial Award, was named as a Dean’s Outstanding Advocate and was selected as a National Member of The Order of Barristers. J.C. came to work for Haun Mena as a law clerk while he was still in school and has been with the firm ever since.
